3 New Faves

Crawling up the stairs, crawling around naked and emptying any kind of container he can find. Those are some new favorite things.

New Things

Griffin has started a few new exciting things I wanted to post. He has learned how to crawl up the stairs already, we figured out. Just this morning Griffin heard me upstairs so Scott watched him from behind as he crawled up 8 stairs in a row, without any help from Scott. We NEED to get those baby gates up! Griffin has also started playing a game with Scott where he will chase (crawl after) Scott and then turn around and wait for him Scott to chase him. They do this from one bedroom to another for 2o minutes at a time. Lastly, we noticed a couple days ago that he has started playing peek-a-boo with pieces of furniture. He will stand up and hold on to our ottoman and squat down so you can't see him, then stand up quickly, smile at you, and do it again and again. Leaps and bounds!

Toys and Kisses

In the first picture Griffin is getting a kiss from his friend, Beckham. In ended up being pretty close to kissing his bottom, which was pretty funny. The other picture is Griffin in a sea of toys in his playroom. He loves it down there but it is cold...hence the hoodie.
In other news, he now has a tooth that came through on the top. This one was accompanied by some sleepless nights and now a fever, which may or may not have something to do with the tooth.

How big is Griffin?

Try not to get distracted by the sour grape face and the gagging. The child has an astonishing gag reflex, much to his parent's dismay.

Photo shoot day

These pictures were taken on the day of Griffin's photo shoot over the weekend. In one he is waving to me and in the other I had just told him "no" because he was trying to chew on Panera's table.

Swinging

Our neighbors have a swingset that has a baby swing so Griffin and I decided to try it out the other day. He laughed and squealed for the first couple swings and then just kinda relaxed after that, which is what you see in the pictures.

Mom's favorite thing

Every once in a while, when Griffin gets tired he loves to dance with his mom. We turn on some music and he puts his arms around my neck and his head on my shoulder and we dance. By far, my favorite thing in the world...

Every time we say "no, no" he shakes his head now!

Playing Piano with the Cousins

Here is Griffin with his "cousins" (actually 2nd cousins), playing the piano. He had a lot of fun visiting with Daniel, Cal, Jack and Wiley!

9 month check-up

Griffin had his 9 month check-up yesterday at the doctor's. He was 17 lbs and 11 oz (15th %) and 27 inches (10th %) and in the 50th % for head size. Needless to say, he is a little guy, but nothing to be worried about. He is doing everything a nine month old should be doing developmentally. He is making tons of consonant sounds (m, b, d are favorites), is crawling like crazy (you put him down in one room and he's in another within a few minutes), he waves (he even waves when you put his shoes on now b/c he knows it means we are going "bye-bye"), he is picking things up with his fingers (pincer grasp), he pulls himself up to standing and he cruises around holding onto furniture. Actually, this morning I put him down in the middle of our bedroom while getting dressed and he crawled to his play table, stood up, held onto the table, took a step towards a chair, grabbed the chair, walked around to the other side of the chair, reached for the vanity, and walked all the way around the vanity and then sat down when he reached his destination (electric outlet-its covered grandma). I just stood there in shock!
At the appt, the doctor informed me he had an ear infection, which also shocked me. A warning from the little guy would have been nice. He had shown no symptoms :) So he is on antibiotics for that and taking iron drops now too since he is still exclusively breastfed and a little low on iron. Overall, the appt went well!

Waving Video

9 months old!

Griffin turned 9 months old yesterday. In the first picture, you can tell it was time for bedtime. He was cruising all over our bedroom while crying. It was like he knew he was tired but didn't want to stop. In the second picture he misplaced one of his Puffs.

Snot and Puke

The title of this post sums up our lives the past 4 days. Poor G has been very sick with some sort of bug that makes him cough constantly, half the time ending in a vomit. I have NEVER done so much laundry. However, he is still a pretty happy guy, all things considered.

Helping Mommy

Griffin loves helping me "unload" the dishwasher. I take care of the knives, he gets everything else :)

We Miss Lucy

Lucy left yesterday to be with her new family. We miss her already. Here is Griffin saying goodbye to Lucy, in his own way.
