Woodland Mound Waterpark

If you live in the city and have young children, this is the place to go! It is free for kids under 2 and has tons of fun water-themed activities. We went there today with grandma, Brittany and Ruth. Grandma took them down the slide over and over and they both loved it!

Happy Wet 4th of July

Patrick gave everyone rides on the dirtbike.
Griffin loved the fresh rhubarb from the garden. He munched on it for an hour, while Zuzu kept watch :)

Griffin with his favorite "cousin", Daniel.

Here is Scott and Griffin at the farm. Griffin is reaching for the camera, as always.

We had a great time at the farm with the Gundersons and grandma and grandpa, despite all the rain. Griffin wasn't bothered by the fireworks, either. He actually clapped after each one.

Tubing

Although this video isn't about Griffin, I couldn't resist. Grandma was laughing soooooo hard!

Boating in Indian River

Here is Scott tubing.

Here is Griffin's face while watching dad go tubing. He wants to smile but you can see a lot of apprehension in those eyes!

Here is grandma showing Griffin some birds.

Here is a picture of grandpa trying to help Griffin cool off by dipping him in the water. As you could see, many parts of the river were very shallow.

Griffin loves the Beach

This might actually be his favorite part of going to the beach...rinsing off with the hose.

He would walk right in, without even so much as a thought to whether we were by his side.

As soon as we get to the pool in the morning Griffin gets the keys out of our bag (or says "KEEEYS!" which is probably the most distinct word he has ever said) and walks over the boardwalk where he knows you need keys to get to the beach. He cannot reach the handle but if he could he would try and stick the key in until he could get through...he loves the beach! Yesterday, grandma and grandpa built him a sandcastle to sit in, equipped with a long tunnel to connect it to the waves to fill up with water. He stayed in it for over and hour.

So much for the Hiatus

Family picture after dinner on the river.

Here he is playing in the sand. He takes a handful of sand and throws it into the shovel. Kind of defeats the purpose, but still cute.

Here is a picture of Griffin enjoying his lunch by the pool, which we do everyday.

First Day in FL

We got out to swim for the first time last night after dinner. Although he tolerated the pool he LOVED the ocean!

He made sure to take care of the toilet paper, first thing!

If he would keep on sunglasses more than a minute he wouldn't have to squint so much :)

Happy Belated Father's Day

To celebrate Father's Day (for the best father in the world) we went to River Downs, as we do every year. Griffin had fun petting, watching and riding the horses. He also had fun walking around the clubhouse and giving his cousin Camryn lots of kisses (which is what he is doing in that picture). We leave for Florida on Wednesday morning so there will be a hiatus in the blogging for all our loyal readers. We will be back next week with plenty of fun pictures.

Festival Fun

We headed to SMOC's festival last night with cousins Livi and Cam and Grammy and Grampy Lyons. Had a lot of fun playing games, riding rides and eating as you can see in the pictures!

Imaginitive Play

Griffin and I went to the bookstore for story time last week on a rainy day and he found a toy car that was still in its box. It didn't matter to him, he pushed it around on the floor for 10 minutes straight making his car noises. I figured out I no longer need to BUY toys, just take him to the store to play with them.
